We're hiring a Director of Accounts to own the health and growth of our Agency Services client portfolio. That covers branding and marketing, web design and development, and AI and automation work. You lead senior account management for our key clients, you manage a team of account managers, and you work alongside business development, strategy, and operations to keep client relationships productive, retained, and growing.

Remote role. Regular travel to client sites, mostly in the Louisville, KY region, so living in Louisville helps.

What you'd actually own

Three things, in order of importance.

The portfolio. Retention, growth, and client health across the book. When a client relationship is drifting, you see it before the client says it, and you fix it before it becomes a renewal conversation. When a client has a problem we can solve and hasn't asked us to, you make that connection.

The team. You manage account managers directly. That means real management: development, coaching, standards, and the occasional hard conversation. If your instinct is to hold the biggest accounts yourself and let the team fend for itself, this isn't the role.

The senior relationships. For a set of key clients, you're the person their leadership calls. Not the escalation path of last resort, the actual relationship.

What success looks like

Clients renew because the work and the relationship are both strong, not because switching is inconvenient. Accounts grow because you understood the client's business well enough to bring them the next best idea first. Your account managers get better every quarter because you made them better. And internally, business development, strategy, and operations trust what you tell them about your accounts, because it's accurate.

Why this role exists now

Tectonic's Agency Services business is growing, and we're investing in it deliberately. Growth creates a specific challenge: more clients, more complexity, and more senior relationships than any one person can carry well. This role exists so that our client relationships get more senior attention as we grow, not less. You'd be building the account function that carries us through the next stage, not inheriting a finished machine.

If you're not sure whether your background fits, apply anyway and say so in your note. We'd rather have that conversation than miss the right person over a checklist.
